Keukenhof, also known as the Garden of Europe, is one of the world's largest flower gardens. It is situated in Lisse, the Netherlands.
According to the official website for the Keukenhof Park, approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted annually in the park, which covers an area of 32 hectares (79 acres).
The history of Keukenhof, the name of meaning "kitchen garden", goes back to the 15th century. Countess Jacqueline of Bavaria, Jacoba van Beieren gathered fruit and vegetables from the woods and dunes for the kitchen of Teylingen Castle.
Keukenhof is scheduled to be open from 21 March to 19 May 2018. The Flower Parade will be held on Saturday, 20 April 2018. The Keukenhof theme for 2019 is "Dutch Design".
